This is an extra special one, because there are about as many possibilities for what you do with it as there are stars in the sky–which is a lot!
- Take a look at the things around you. What do you see? What titles come to mind? Perhaps you are outside and you see a tree; or perhaps you are relaxing in your bedroom and staring at the folds of your blanket as they drape over your legs.
- But wait!–What if you were to re-label these things? What if you were to give them different titles?
- Trees might become nerve endings; the folds of your blanket might become mountain ranges–right there for you to explore with a bird’s eye view! Your lamp? A lighthouse. Your computer screen? A portal. Your wall? A canvas. Your toolbox? A treasure chest. Your favorite novel? A photo album.
- How might this affect the way we view our environment? How might this affect the way we view the world, or the narrative of our lives herein?
- Remember: if you relabel your eyes as cameras and your environment your subject of study, then there is no limit to the wonders you may witness, for though the things around you are real, your mind determines your perspective and what they mean to you. In this way, we can rewire our thinking patterns, which can rewire our behavior, which can rewire our destiny. And all with the power of imagination!
- Happy labeling.
